Names: Intro to Moses

After recently seeing the movie Exodus in theaters.  I realized that I have filmed several videos on this topic.  As I was compiling them, I realized, this video was filmed, yet never published.   I hope you enjoy this look at the early part of Exodus filmed in Iraq.   With various scenes from where I was stationed.  I am putting together a set of videos filmed on the Story of Moses.  (More on this later).

As the book of Genesis transitions to Exodus, we are introduced several names.

This video highlights two Egyptian midwives, “Shiphrah and Puah” and a baby found in the river named “Moses.”

What is God doing and what can we learn as we begin the book of Exodus?

All Things New

Have you ever seen something in such a state of disrepair that you wondered, what it would look like restored?

Sometimes that is what our lives seem like.  We know where we want to be, but don’t know how to get there.  We long to be made new.  We long for a place with no more brokenness and pain.  We long for heaven.  We long for the kingdom.  In what ways do you want God to make all things new in your life?

Where is your treasure?  What matters to you most?  Jesus said in Matthew 6:20-21, “Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven” and “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  If this is true, Where is your treasure?  Take a look at your heart and life and see what is really the most important to you.  Check out this video and discover the greatest treasure of all.

Bunkers seem unnecessary when sitting in the safety of your home.  But in a combat zone with rocket attacks and incoming sirens they are a welcome shelter.  Not long ago, I remember running into one . . . with 15 of my closest friends.  Boundaries in place to protect us in our relationships with others.  Sometimes we need to create boundaries in our lives so we can have healthy relationships.  Other times we need to come out of the bunker to draw closer to the ones we love.  Check out the book Boundaries and join us at Bunker #5!

Solid Foundation

Check out this video, “Solid Foundation” and ask yourself what kind of foundation are you building your life on?  You can have it all, but if your foundation is weak eventually it will all come crashing down.  Look at a modern day example of this Iraqi palace compared with Jesus’ teaching in the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5-7.  As you reflect on your life, are there ways to reinforce your foundation?

Shadow of Herod

As you prepare for Christmas, take a fresh look at a familiar story and experience the birth of Christ in a New Way.
What are the powers at play behind the scenes?
What is the context that the Messiah would come?
What gift are you celebrating this Christmas?

Read Matthew 1-2; Luke 1-2; John 1

Check out “Shadow of Herod” and let me know what you think!

Whenever you are on a long trip, what is question your children always ask?

“Are we there yet?”

We get anxious and want to be at our destination.  But are there things we can learn along the way?  In this video we will look at 4 lessons from the desert.  Put on your pack and journey through the Desert with Moses.

  • What lessons can be learned?
  • What did the people learn about themselves?
  • What did they learn as they lived with each other?
  • What did they learn about God in the midst of the Journey?

What will you learn between Egypt and the Promise Land?

Gone Fishin’

It started with a question about paying taxes.  Next a fish + a coin = a miracle?

Peter was asked a question and the answer was different than he expected.

Take a deeper look at this unique miracle found only in one Gospel, in only four verses- Matthew 17:24-27.

Have you ever had someone say to you, “That was just a coincidence?”
